This project was shot during the national lockdown in which my flatmate traveled to Darlington to quarantine with his father. He left the majority of his clothing and belongings in our flat and was kind enough to let me use them. The variation in his clothing (silk dresses to workwear trousers, floral blouses to trench coats) made me consider the relationship we have with out clothing more carefully, and how this has changed whilst being in lockdown. Whilst it was a strange experience to create a whole project based on clothing with a complete absence of people, I’ve found that the more human aspect of clothing is in the experiences themselves. At the back of this book is an index of every garment included, compiling thought’s that he contributed himself about each item.
